I had never had a Haier appliance so purchased this one because of watts, non stick, cast professional, double grill, variable heat control and floating hinge statements by seller. Also the low cost of this appliance compared to others was a great plus.
I was so pleased with the quality and ease to use and clean that I ordered one for my daughter and she in turn was as pleased as I was and ordered one for her daughter.
In the future I will be reviewing other Haier products. |

| This is not a good product. It seems it was not well thought out when it was designed. When it is being used, it splatters grease all around the unit so you end up cleaning the whole counter (as well as the outside of the unit) after use. And, the unit itself is quite difficult to clean. It is heavy and cumbersome, and I am quite strong and agile. The plates cannot be removed for cleaning, so you end up holding the whole unit over the sink (trying not to trip on the dangling power cord) scraping off the residue and trying to wash the surfaces. The grease tray (for use when cooking) does not attach firmly--it just lays on a groove in front of the unit--so that if you move the unit at all, the tray slides off. The whole process is just a mess. And it doesn't cook the food any better than a good frying pan would. In fact, a grilling frying pan with a splatter screen would give better results since you'd have more control over the process and much less to clean up afterwards. Unfortunately, the company will not allow returns of opened product, so I'm stuck with it. This was definitely a disappointing purchase and I would not recommend it at all. |

I’m having trouble getting sandwiches toasted evenly. How do you adjust the floating hinge to make the top grill even with the bottom?
